Director of Transformation
c. GBP125k • London / flexible

Dogs Trust is the UK's leading dog welfare charity. Our vision is to improve dog welfare both in the United Kingdom and across the globe; and over the past 20 years, we've turned that vision into a reality. We're improving dog welfare by campaigning against poor practices and changing laws, focusing on rehoming, providing, behavioural support for owners and expanding our reach by supporting projects overseas and establishing partnerships in the USA.

We know that we can do more for dogs and the people who care for them, both in the UK and internationally, by being forward–looking and resourceful, and ensuring that we have the capacity and vision to address tomorrow's challenges and opportunities. Over recent months, we've reviewed our structures, systems and strategies to make sure that we're in the very best shape for the coming years, and this newly–created role will play a crucial part in realising our ambitious plans for the future.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, our new Director of Transformation will drive our 10–year strategy by developing a comprehensive delivery plan and well–designed work programmes that engage colleagues, partners and volunteers alike. As a powerful champion of change, you'll secure the support of others to create a strong, courageous organisational culture that embraces and optimises new opportunities. With a firmly people–centred approach, you'll be skilled at assembling supportive coalitions of shared purpose that help us to deliver our ambitions.

We want to meet candidates with extensive experience of leading and implementing change, with a particular skill at designing effective people strategies. You must have operated at a senior level in a large, complex and international organisation, and will have a sophisticated grasp of how coaching approaches can support high performance in both individuals and teams. Strong candidates will additionally bring an MBA (or similar qualification), plus a track record of planning, delivering and maintaining change within a strong framework of continuous improvement.
