A leading company who designs, develops and manufactures high technology products used within the marine and defence industries are looking to recruit a Quality Systems Engineer to support the maintenance and continual improvement of the QMS and QA functions a part of an enthusiastic and driven quality team. You will be responsible for the release and change control of technical data within the ERP system, as well as creation and maintenance of project configuration & quality plans in support of the sales bid process.


Duties:

  • Maintenance of the ISO 9001 and configuration of the QMS
  • Support the annual internal and external QMS audit programmes
  • Use tools such as Q–Pulse for administration of non–conformance management
  • Maintain the configuration QMS process controls and documentation
  • Aid the customer complaints process
  • Engage with business functions to expedite non–conformity resolutions
  • Participate with the design and software release process
  • Assist the bid process
  • Produce and maintain configuration and quality management plans
  • Support the creation and maintenance of KPIs and trend analysis
  • Attend meetings, providing full support to achieve the business objectives
  • Administer the release, change control of technical data within the ERP system
  • Act as a focal point for matters relating to ERP design change requests, build state definitions, deviations and engineering part revisions
  • Maintain technical descriptions within the ERP system part catalogue upon approval of alternative components
  • Generate and maintain Specifications of Technical Requirements and prepare data
  • Attend software release meetings and maintain ERP version control and the software repository
  • Travel within the UK and overseas may be required


Skills & Experience:

  • Engineering background with a qualification in electromechanical engineering is beneficial
  • Must have previous experience within a similar role
  • An enthusiastic individual, team player. can deliver results
  • Must have excellent people management, communication and analytical skills
  • You will need strong IT skills with the ability to create KPIs
  • Qualified ISO auditor ISO 9001:2015
  • Knowledge of Marine Equipment Directive (MED) and AQAPs is beneficial
  • Understanding of product quality assurance processes such as APQP, PPAP and FAI preferred
  • Must be a British citizen and able to pass UK Security clearance
  • Must have a UK Driving License
