CFO Rapid Growth Retailer

Interim 3 Mths (with potential to go Permanent)

Up to 150,000 + benefits

West London Hybrid working

We are excited to be working with our client in supporting the CEO recruit1 an experienced and high–performing CFO to join the team, who has a passion for retail and is ready to roll–up their sleeves to help us take the company from 25m turnover to 100m turnover in 2 years!

The company is a rapid growth retailer and expanded both online and retail operations within the UK and into Europe. The role will include true business partnering, working closely with the CEO, founders and COO, to contribute significantly to the overall development, foundation set–up and growth of the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data–led CFO who is commercial, strategic and can lead within their team and cross–function to build an organisation with structure, processes, controls and systems.

Applicants must have experienced high–growth scale environments, as well as having lead on equity capital raises for > 40m. Retail or consumer good eCommerce experience is also a must.

Responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Strategic and operational responsibility for all end–to–end finance: financial control, financial planning and reporting (internal and external), tax, cash flow and funding
  • Lead the finance function currently consisting of 7 members (leadership, coaching and line management) with a view to growing the team alongside the business (as required)
  • Resource the finance function appropriately for the size and complexity of the business.
  • Act as a senior business partner across the UK and European teams in respect of performance and development/expansion projects
  • Produce and lead on the annual budget and long–term projections (modelling) for internal and external stakeholders (banks, investors)
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal, tax and statutory regulations, on time and in accordance with accounting standards across all jurisdictions (UK, Europe and any expansion territories)
  • Provide strategic insights and data–driven decisions, supporting the CEO and COO with the implementation of the 2022+ Strategy
  • Lead on any debt financing arrangements required by the business and support in equity raises (due diligence etc)
  • Establish the Company's financial and management reporting, ensuring that monthly reporting is such that the CEO and Board can use it to drive optimal business decision (focused on key priorities and supports decision–making) and implement BI reporting tools
  • Implement optimal tax structure with tax planning and implementation
  • Implement and integrate appropriate financial and technology systems in collaboration with operational and technical teams.
  • In charge of development of a finance and analytics talent pipeline, ensuring succession and development plans are in place for all the team.

What you'll need

  • Been there and done all the above, in at least 2 organisations previously
  • Experienced in a start–up environment, and scale–ups
  • Passion for sportswear, luxury retail and commitment to the company's success
  • Deep knowledge and passion for Financial Modelling & Data – we're looking for someone keen to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in and be data–led
  • Growth mindset – dedicated to growing our business and your skills as a professional
  • Strong experience and understanding of commercial finance, business strategy
  • Experience in the retail and/or consumer sector, and essential eCommerce
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Good understanding and experience of ERP software implantation and usage
  • Strong interpersonal and team–building capabilities, ability to develop trust and manage your team effectively
  • Creative (problem solver), high–energy, proactive, can–do attitude, with a passion to succeed

Experience

  • University or Advanced Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
  • Qualified Accountant or significant technical Accounting experience.
  • Demonstrable excellence in senior Finance positions (10+ years).
  • Delivered growth in similar sized businesses, taking them from 20m to 100m turnover in 1–2 years
