Editorial Director, Travel Media, Up to 75k + 30k Commission, London / Hybrid. A board level role in this ambitious and growing, travel industry media business where you will be responsible for both sales and editorial teams that support a portfolio of print, online and conference offerings. A big part of your role will be to identify new opportunities to launch white papers/supplements/magazines/host events in the sector and be the face of the business.
Editorial Director Role Responsibilities
- Use analytics to measure the success of editorial content and to make decisions and recommendations for how to target, develop and grow our audience.
- Create strategies that deliver website traffic across all acquisition channels.
- Foster and drive innovation within the team to deliver content that continues to meet the goals of the business.
- Work alongside the CEO and sales team to develop and deliver the editorial calendar.
- Work closely with the sales director to ensure the topics covered and content created meet clients' needs
- Work with marketing to develop content–led strategies to meet audience development targets.
- Work with stakeholders and internal experts to develop SEO to ensure growth of organic traffic.
- Understand how social media can be utilized to engage with and grow our audience
- Help optimize the performance of newsletters and other email communications.
- Write, present, deliver content as appropriate across multiple channels.
- Manage editorial budgets.
- Support the creation of marketing materials such as media kits
- Attend industry events and represent the brands.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to editorial staff.
Editorial Director Person Specification
- You will have an understanding of how to build digital and print audiences
- Experience managing and coaching an editorial team.
- Ability to analyze external trends and internal developments and translate those to content opportunities.
- Proven ability to drive strategy and execution of large and complex, multi–disciplinary projects.
- A proactive, creative approach and positive mindset that favours innovation and continuous improvement.
- Demonstratable track record of using editorial and content creation to support the sales process.
Head of Commercial Additional Details
- A basic salary up to 75,000 per annum
- Bonus potential up to 30,000 per annum
- Hybrid working with 2/3 day split
