Project Manager

Are you a hands–on Project Manager with experience in managing numerous projects, across all phases of the project life–cycle? We are a rapidly–expanding world–class manufacturer, in some of the best products and finest bespoke capital project solutions. We are offering a UK–role, with occasional international travel as required.

BASIC SALARY: GBP55,000 – GBP65,000 (negotiable depending on experience or potential)

JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Manager, Chemicals Project Manager, International Project Manager – Chemicals, Manufacturer

As our Project Manager, you will be hands–on and customer–facing. Working closely with our Global engineering team and production sites, taking project orders through to completion and handover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Manager, Chemicals Project Manager, International Project Manager – Chemicals, Manufacturer

Project management, client interaction and reporting
Receive, interpret & implement requirements from Client and Sales Engineers
Become primary customer point of contact from project perspective after point of sale
Develop & manage project budgets, plans and schedule, with any recovery plans
Managing team workloads and outputs
Management of project tasks for engineering team with resource planning
Submission to client and approval of documentation
Check and approve relevant calculations, quality standards, business management systems, specifications, reports, calculations, reports, sketches, schedules, drawings and other documentation

Installation & Commissioning requiring creation of documentation & related activities: –
Producing FAT & SAT documents
Producing Installation & Commissioning schedules
Completing dry and wet commissioning checks
Coordinating training for end user
Manage internal customers, sub–contractors & main suppliers; supervision of installation & commissioning of plant & equipment.
Planning and scheduling of equipment to site
Hand over and training of the client's operators

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Project Manager, Chemicals Project Manager, International Project Manager – Chemicals, Manufacturer

You will have the following characteristics & experiences:

Either a formal qualification in any relevant engineering discipline, or relevant work experience
Previous track record of hands–on project engineering experience in related industry, ideally an EPC company
Project Management qualifications (Prince 2, PMP. etc.)
Happy to spend some time overseas for team and project coordination (2 weeks at a time is a typical maximum)
Knowledge of process systems
Chemical industry process knowledge / experience desirable
Report writing & presentation skills
Experience of Microsoft Project
