Job description

v Comply with Health and Safety responsibilities as defined in the company health and safety policy and ensure these are adequately delegated in the absence of the job holder.

v Overall responsibility for a production purchase budget of circa GBP25 million p.a.

v Overall responsibility for supplier selection and contract negotiations.

v Monitor raw material prices and report monthly commodity price movements.

v Provide detailed monthly reports of material movements to Group Finance Director.

v Strategic purchase of raw materials to ensure best price .

v Responsibility for All raw material contract negotiations.

v Responsibility to deliver Purchase Price Variance to budget.

v Control, mentor and support Purchasing team to achieve their objectives.

v Overall responsibility for the development and maintenance of our purchasing strategy.

v Support development of manufacturing and supply chain strategy.

v In conjunction with Group Technical Director take responsibility for Make V Buy decisions

v Deliver synergy savings and work closely with Excel and Vitry team.

v Responsibility for All Far East suppliers covering all aspects of supply in particular contract negotiations and NPD projects.

v Regular supplier visits both UK and overseas.

v Responsibility to deliver significant savings for Non–Production purchase orders over GBP1000. Annual spend circa GBP15million.

v Recruit and develop purchasing team to deliver world class materials supply.

v Responsibility for contract negotiations for All major Capital purchases.

v Responsibility for the negotiation of all contracts for site services (canteen, cleaning etc) company cars and the temporary labour contract (Staff line currently).

v Supplier development.

v Ensure supplier base is capable of satisfying the demand of a seasonal business.

v Contribute to all aspects of the Northern Europe Executive Team.

v Total responsibility for all energy costs and compliance with CRC legislation.

v Support all cross functional activities NPD Control, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing and Design.

v Monitor team performance in line with KPI S e.g. Purchase Price Variance.

v Ensure Hozelock purchases maintain their commercial competitiveness.

v Plan and implement ad hoc projects as requested by Group Supply Chain Director.

v Responsibility for Purchasing department cost centre budget.

v Responsibility for Purchasing annual cost predictions for budget purposes.

v Provide All departments with Purchasing support and input as required.

v Major involvement in our Lean Manufacturing Team strategy.

v Major contribution to our Business Continuity strategy and implementation.

v Major involvement in sustainability particularly for reprocessed materials.
