What you'll be doing

As a Project Manager, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Co–chair periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in accordance with GBL.
  • Ensure the team maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.).
  • Prepare internal reports for the Senior Project Manager and provide regular information to be included in client progress report.
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation.
  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees and supply chain.
  • Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement solutions.
  • Develop, implement and update resource allocations plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests.
  • Produce and regularly update Organisational Charts (Organogram) for the customers approval.
  • Lead risk/opportunity reviews, present the Risk Register and recommend/implement changes.
  • Log and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of authority.
  • Assist the procurement and commercial team with placing any subcontracts or purchase orders on time and within budget.
  • Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken with a view towards handover and certification.
  • Identify at the earliest opportunity any delays that are impacting the programme so that the appropriate notices can be raised (EWNs and CENs).
  • Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently to ensure cost control.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for someone with the following qualities and experience:

  • Able to demonstrate a track record of successful project delivery, good client relationships, and repeat business.
  • Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts, particularly NEC4 Option E contracts.
  • Experience in implementing safe systems of work and quality control procedures.
  • Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to build effective teams. Providing mentoring and support to members of the team where required.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Able to undertake work in high pressure situations.
  • Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
  • Record of a solution–based approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team.
  • Experience of working on a variety of project types.
  • Proficient on O365.
  • Holds a current driving licence.
  • Holds a formal qualification (BSc/MSc) in management/construction or experience equivalent.
  • Holds a current CSCS card and SMSTS or IOSH qualification.
