Job Title: Project Manager

Duration: 6 months, extensions likely

Location: WHF / Edinburgh or London or Bristol

We are happy to be recruiting for one of our high–profile banking clients based in Edinburgh or London or Bristol. They are currently looking for a Project Manager on a 6–month contract based from home, with as and when requirement in the office.

About the role:

You will be joining the Bulk Annuities Lab team, part of the Retirement Platform to deliver change within Insurance, Pensions and Investments business unit.

Typical projects include enhancements to bulk annuities pricing capacity and capability, expansion of the investment universe, and automation of manual data flows and process through the E2E bulk annuity lifecycle.

Experience Required:

  • Experience leading and delivering change in a complex environment.
  • Experience in handling cost, timescale, quality for multiple projects.
  • Ability to control project finances, plans and dependencies for implementations.
  • Understanding of the requirements for project standards and documentation including timelines, status/risk/issue reporting and communication, exception reporting and artefact sign off.
  • Experience of building strong working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Manage, motivate and develop successful project teams.
  • Influence others by demonstrating and encouraging business values and behaviour.


Key Business Skills Required:

  • General understanding of annuities as a customer product
  • Product experience – Fixed Income, Derivatives (ETD / Cleared / OTC), Loans, Structured Products
  • Knowledge of asset modelling, liability modelling and capital frameworks
  • Knowledge of Fund Pricing, Accounting, and other operational processes an advantage


Other Skills/Qualifications Required:

  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to engage stakeholders to ascertain requirements, and supply deliverables and solutions that meet those requirements.
  • Good written communication skills to produce specifications and reports as required.
  • Strong knowledge of the principles and frameworks of successful programme and project management, and the ability to adapt to suit the needs of the organisation and programme environment.
  • Experienced in managing own time and other resources to ensure delivery to agreed business plans within cost, quality and timescale objectives, ensuring that the benefits identified in the business case can be realised.
