A Local Authority based in North London is currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join their Climate Change team as soon as possible.
This is a full time, temporary, ongoing contract with the ideal candidate having extensive experience working on climate change projects ideally within a public sector environment.
The purpose of the role is to deliver on the commitments to tackling the Climate Emergency set out in the Council's new Climate Action Plan.
- You will co–ordinate and deliver projects to tackle the causes of climate change (reducing our carbon emissions) and the consequences of climate change (building resilience to deal with a changing climate).
- Example projects include a new climate crowdfunding scheme, a zero–interest retrofit loan, increasing car sharing, reducing flood risk and increasing the biodiversity of our open spaces.
- The role will require delivering on multiple high priority projects and working with many different teams.
Requirements:
- To succeed in this role, you will need to have strong leadership skills, be passionate about delivering projects that support our residents, and be able to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries.
- You will have experience of managing projects and programmes, have an understanding of change and enablement initiatives, be able to demonstrate successful implementation, and have in–depth knowledge and experience of all stages of the project and programme lifecycle, especially change and enablement requirements to deliver strategic objectives within projects and programmes.
- You will have outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder management and influencing skills, with an ability to convey complex information to a diverse range of audiences and deliver difficult messages whist maintaining ownership, governance and buy–in.
- You will be a keen problem solver with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be able to operate and thrive in an environment with high levels of ambiguity and possess resilience to bounce back from difficult situations.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between 360 – 380 per day Umbrella LTD dependant on experience and qualifications.
