Manufacturing Project Engineer - Interim

Manufacturing Project Engineer – Peterborough – GBP400 a day – 6–month Contract / Interim

Food Machinery business seeking to appoint a Manufacturing / Project Engineer for a 6–month period to assist with the commercialisation of a new machine that will be sold into the Food and Beverage sector.

The Manufacturing / Project Engineer appointed will take a product that has been rigorously tested at the R&D stage and investigate the manufacturability of the product, how it can be developed and integrated into factory production trials, and onto full scale production.

The role may involve some re–engineering of the product to facilitate its manufacture, process tooling adjustments as necessary, cost analysis, applying design for manufacturing / assembly techniques (DFM / DFA), developing bespoke testing procedures, and accurately testing the product to relevant standards.

The individual appointed will also work as part of the Installation and Commissioning team, installing the machine in customers factories (Food and Drink).

Required Experience

• Solid Mechanical / Electrical experience

• Previous experience working for an OEM Machinery Manufacturer / Supplier

• Understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic circuitry

• 7+ years' experience of Engineering within the Food and Beverage sector

• Understanding of Hygienic systems and the Dairy sector

This is an interim contract for a period of 6–months. It may extend beyond this and has the potential to become a Permanent role. Ref: 9623
