Head of Data and Insight GBP61,549 – GBP70,461 plus benefits Full time, Permanent Location: South Kensington Campus – Hybrid Ref: PRS00197 The Advancement Division of 90+ staff is responsible for securing support for the College, through building and managing strong, mutually beneficial relationships, with our alumni, friends and other key stakeholders. The Head of Data and Insight will play an influential and leading role in ensuring that the Advancement strategy is supported by robust evidence, analysis and insight, allowing the College to meet its strategic objectives. We are looking for an energetic leader who can build relationships and bring strategic oversight to our data management, analysis and insight activities. Reporting to the Deputy Director (Advancement Operations) the Head of Data and Insight will lead the team, develop data and insight strategies and promote best practice in order to optimise reporting, analysis and evaluation of fundraising, alumni relations and events data. Being able to use data and insights to drive change, embed a thriving data culture and increase our data maturity in Advancement are key parts to the role. He or she will also facilitate the acquisition of new data sources to build the picture of Advancement activity at the College and will take strategic responsibility for the fundraising, alumni relations and events systems, primarily the Division's current CRM, the Raiser's Edge. This is an integral role, and the post holder will be a key member of the Advancement Operations and Administration Management Team and part of the wider Advancement Leadership Team. Duties and responsibilities Develop a comprehensive and proactive strategy for the Data and Insight team which ultimately embeds a thriving data culture and increased data maturity within Advancement. Work with the senior leadership team and key stakeholders to evolve the culture to become more data–led, evidence–based, including presenting to boards, committees, etc. Oversee the implementation of a proactive insights programme, which identifies trends in complex alumni relations, fundraising and events data sets and makes recommendations regarding actions that should be taken or programmes that should be built. Ensure people and teams understand and interpret data effectively in the context of their roles to drive performance and impact. Direct a programme of reporting automation, using Power BI or other appropriate software, to standardise and ease the speed and accuracy of reporting. Oversee the direction of the Data Protection and GDPR training programme, including working with the team to implement new and innovative ways to deliver the programme Lead, motivate, retain and mentor a team of six staff. Essential requirements Proven leadership and people management skills, preferably gained in either the Higher Education or not–for–profit sectors. Proven experience to translate data and information into actionable insights tailored for stakeholder interests. Experience of relational databases (e.g. Raiser's Edge or similar software) and content management systems (e.g. Hivebrite and Campaign Monitor). Able to understand and analyse technical issues in relation to database management Exceptional and demonstrable managerial, organisational and planning skills. Able to perform effectively under pressure with good personal organisation, time management and prioritisation skills.
