Description
The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for the production of internal and external reporting for the business under UK GAAP and IFRS.
You will report to the Head of Financial Reporting, look after 1 member of staff and will have a broad remit which includes:
- Responsibility for preparing, reviewing and presenting financial results and reports in accordance with UK GAAP, statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Developing, updating and ensuring compliance with accounting policies
- Challenging information and financial results as appropriate, to deliver high quality reporting to management, regulators and auditors, along with adequate evidence.
- Assisting in the preparation, review and delivery of external reporting, including half year and annual reporting
- Supporting the financial reporting function in maintaining requirements, calendars and resource planning to deliver within time frames
- Supporting technical research and papers
- Working closely with the Financial Accounting, Investment Reporting, FP&A, Regulatory Reporting and
- Financial Operations functions to communicate requirements and challenge results.
- Maintaining an effective control environment over financial reporting for management, statutory and
- regulatory reporting as appropriate and drive improvements.
- Providing assistance to both internal and external auditors on a timely basis in the performance of their
- audits and in implementing recommendations agreed by management.
- Developing and maintaining procedure manuals and/or process documentation to assist in training new joiners. ·
- Driving process improvements, ledger/reporting applications and increasing efficiencies
Profile
The successful candidate for this financial reporting manager role will be:
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA with relevant experience)
- An Excellent communicator, able to influence key stakeholders and senior management
- A first class accountant with impeccable attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable in relation to UK GAAP, IFRS and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements as well as accountancy standards within a financial services / insurance environment
- Experiences in financial reporting within an international, complex business
- Ideally have worked directly in an insurance sector client, or have audited businesses within the sector.
