Systems Engineer – Aerospace. The Role: Our Client based in Buckinghamshire UK, is looking to appoint a Systems Engineer. The Systems Engineer is a member of the Systems Engineering Group, comprising of Systems Engineering, Software Engineering and Electronic Engineering. The Systems Engineer is responsible for executing the engineering process and delivering the Systems Engineering work products. The Systems Engineer will have some experience in the application of systems engineering at project level. The role inherently requires a strong aptitude for problem solving and an ability to understand complex inter dependencies. The Systems Engineer will actively engage with the continuous improvement of the engineering process to improve product quality, safety, and business efficiency. Qualifications: 1st or 2.1 Accredited and relevant STEM degree Activities and Tasks: Utilise systems engineering methods across the life–cycle. Engage with continuous improvement across the systems engineering processes. Capture and analyse stakeholder needs to document and trace requirements. Develop and document detailed requirement and design specifications at various sub–system levels, suitable to inform and guide multi–discipline implementation teams. Support all levels of verification from proof–of–concept through integration and qualification testing. Support the on–going airworthiness of the companies products. Contribute to the team to collaboratively develop and deliver design and modelling artefacts. Provide technical advice to internal customers. Provide domain knowledge in support of both internal and external design reviews via written and verbal means. Knowledge and Experience: Experience of working with a variety of internal stakeholders of varying seniorities. Experience of contributing to system design within an integrated team of engineering disciplines. Practiced at supervising others. Knowledge of the key systems engineering principles across the lifecycle. Some experience across the lifecycle at subsystem level. Some experience (1year +) of engineering complex systems. Desirable: General knowledge and experience of working within US MIL STD / UK Def. Standards. Knowledge and application of Aerospace / Defence or similar design. Specific and Technical Skills: Experience in some aspects of requirements elicitation, definition, decomposition, verification, and traceability maintenance. Familiar with project phases and engineering technical reviews. Knowledge of the order and relevance of the engineering technical review. Knowledge and understanding of the principals and tools used to model multi–body systems. Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of the tools used to model systems and associated subsystems. Knowledge of SysML and MBSE tools. Knowledge of software or scripting tools. This role is offered on a Permanent basis and is a real opportunity to be employed by a world leader in their field.
