Role PA to Corporate Director Grade GBP15.60 Connect2Luton are excited to recruit for a Personal Assistant to the Corporate Director on behalf of Luton Borough Council within their Children, Families and Education department! As a Personal Assistant, you will be responsible for providing effective secretarial and administrative support to the Director and undertake specific support tasks as required. To be successful in this role you must be able to operate within a demanding environment and will need to be reactive to frequently changing priorities and deadlines, with a high degree of interpersonal and social skills to influence and progress matters efficiently and professionally. About the Role Draft correspondence, memos and reports on behalf of the Director, using personal judgement to ensure that written communications are accurate, understood and fluent. Collect, analyse and interpret statistical and other management information, manipulating/presenting data. Receive and filter incoming telephone calls for the Director from a wide range of sources. Initiate own calls when necessary, exercising tact, discretion and courtesy. Provide shorthand/audio and copy typing service to a high standard and strict deadlines. Maintain the Director's diary through prioritisation, allocation and organisation of appointments. Attend, participate in and minute meetings internally/externally. About you Experience of a secretarial support role to senior management. Effective and credible communicator, able to deal with a wide range of people in a courteous but assertive manner. Able to produce clear, understandable and grammatically correct documents. Competent in use of word processing, spreadsheets, email packages. Work closely to organisational priorities and deadlines, able to progress and facilitate matters. Able to work on own initiative, make informed judgement without coming back to management. Able to take appropriate action when discrimination is identified. Ability to learn, understand and apply the details of operation of the functions within the Directorate. OCR 2 Typing, Shorthand 70 wpm, Audio certificate, GCSE grade C English or equivalent qualification. Knowledge of operation of Local Government. Ability to attend sites throughout the Borough (as required).
