Permanent Head of OD role with the Nursing & Midwifery Council, hybrid working paying up to GBP74,095. Thank you for your interest in these vitally important roles for the NMC. We're the independent regulator of more than 758,000 nursing and midwifery professionals. Our vision is for safe, effective, and kind nursing and midwifery care that improves everyone's health and wellbeing. In either of these roles, you will be helping to make this vision a reality. Our organisation is at a pivotal moment as we recover from the height of the pandemic and focus on the strategic objectives that Covid–19 put on hold. We're now in the third year of our five–year strategy, and while we've achieved much already, there's still plenty of work left to do to shape the future of nursing and midwifery regulation and transform our organisation. That's why it's such an exciting time to join our leadership team in People & Organisational Development. These are fantastic opportunities to use your exceptional skills and experience to make a positive difference. While each of these roles has a unique focus, all three are leadership positions that play a key role in the design and delivery of our People Services as we aim to be focused on making our organisation as effective as possible and empowering our one thousand plus colleagues to give their very best. And finally Each of these roles is challenging and rewarding in equal measure. We want to hear from outstanding HR & OD leaders who feel inspired by our vision, and aligned with our values of fairness, kindness, ambition, and collaboration. If that's you, then we very much look forward to hearing from you. Our Values & Behaviours We don't pay lip service to our values. They genuinely guide the way we behave, individually and together, and give us a firm foundation to promote excellence in nursing and midwifery for the benefit of the public. Each value is crucial, but their real strength comes from how they work together. We're Fair We treat everyone fairly. Fairness is at the heart of our role as a trusted, transparent regulator and employer. We're Kind We act with kindness and in a way that values people, their insights, situations and experiences. We're Ambitious We take pride in our work. We're open to new ways of working and always aim to do our best for the professionals on our register, the public we serve and each other. We're Collaborative We value our relationships (both within and outside of the NMC) and recognise that we're at our best when we work well with others. We value our relationships (both within and outside of the NMC) and recognise that we're at our best when we work well with others. We are all responsible for upholding these values in our own and our colleagues' behaviour. Everyone we work with – whether they're a colleague, a professional on our register, a member of the public or someone else – will see these values through the way we behave. Roles in the Senior Leadership Team of People & Organisational Development Our service sits within the People & Organisational Effectiveness Directorate. Over the past two years we have gone through significant change. Our transitional organisational structure for People and Organisational Development (POD) now reflects our work to realign ourselves to employee lifecycle and to modernise our service into the new world of work. We've done well but there's much more to do. We launched our People Plan (2022 – 2025) in April this year and work is also well underway to realise the key commitments in this important plan. This is an exciting time to join a new Senior Leadership Team, building on the successes of the transitional leadership team of 2021. Having achieved the midpoint of realigning our service by putting NMC colleagues at the heart of what we do we are now ready to find our permanent new Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to take forwards this work and continue to shape, transform, and deliver. This is a chance to be a part of positive change and to work seamlessly together in a truly collaborative style. As a part of the SLT you will be expected to actively lead for and deliver a culture of collaboration and integration and to be a role model for inclusive, engaging, person centered Human Resources & Organisational Development with equality and diversity at our core. You will play a key role in the collective leadership of the service, driving cultural change and new ways of working, getting involved strategically and operationally in equal measure. In this role you will lead the development and implementation of organisational development (OD) strategies that improve the NMC's performance and embeds strategic and operational change. You will work in partnership with managers and leaders to develop progressive organisational development projects, frameworks, and initiatives. The role will provide specialist expertise to the Assistant Director of People Services and the NMC's Strategic Leadership Teams in the development of organisational culture, performance and talent management, leadership, employee engagement, wellbeing and all aspects of organisational change and development. About You For detailed information about the role please read the job description and the person specification and for all these roles we need people who have Finely tuned influencing skills and a consultative adaptive style. A vision of modern delivery and a desire to be the very best role model. A truly inclusive, values driven approach to work. Bold ambition to safely challenge the status quo. Extensive knowledge of equality, diversity & inclusion with the ability to make change as well as advise and enable others. An evidence based approach to delivery, with good judgement and exceptional professional standards. Why work for the NMC? Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We aim to recruit the right people in the right places, and we value the contribution they make to the success of our organisation.
