  • Senior Strategic role within newly established Group Procurement Team reporting directly to Head of Group Procurement
  • Will support the growth and development of Group Procurement Function across Azets
  • Will act as Procurement lead for Azets acquisition ensuring incoming target spend and contracts are understood and be responsible for the creation and management of acquisition integration plan
  • Responsible for building strong effective relationships at all levels of the organisation (including Board Level) as well as understanding the business' needs, ensuring issues are understood and accounted for in the strategy development and during project delivery
Key accountabilities
  • End–to–end sourcing management in support of Procurement Forward Plan and business area requirements; taking ownership of a portfolio of projects across UK and Europe
  • Follows and implements appropriate process and policies to support category management e.g. demand challenge, budget planning, benchmarking to ensure improved procurement performance.
  • Strategy Development: Designs and implements category strategies that deliver financial and other performance targets such as service, supply chain and risk management
  • Ownership and Accountability for the Business Area Savings and Improvement Targets
  • Develops and implements rigorous contracts for all critical, strategic and preferred suppliers within the HR and Professional Services category
  • Supplier Management: Support in the development and deployment of group standards, tools and working practices to improve supplier performance management. Supports the business to design and implements appropriate supplier management plans and supports reviews for critical/strategic suppliers
  • Acquisition integration lead; working closely with target and internal departments to transition supply base into Azets; ensuring that benefits and costs are captured
  • Support in the development and communication of processes and policies to further improvement procurement across Azets
Skills & experience
  • Ability to deliver in accordance with client imposed project timescales.
  • Ability to support the procurement of a variety of procurement categories
  • Strong analytical skills (pivot tables, look–ups) etc.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement, in particular sourcing good practice and processes – supplier rationalisation, supplier development and measurement
  • Demonstrates track record in supplier selection, negotiation and complex contract management, delivering cost, revenue and profit targets.
  • Experience of negotiating supplier contracts including complex service agreements
  • Has proven commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team with the ability to engage with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Flexible and calm under pressure with the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of key business and commercial issues within a private sector business services organisation.
