HEAD OF NEW SERVICE DEVELOPMENT

We are recruiting a highly motivated and project focused Head of New Service Development to join our Services Commercial team.

This is an exciting and newly created role that requires the successful person to identify and pilot additional services for McCarthy Stone Management Services. Covering all areas including Lifestyle, Domestic, Care and Property, to develop revenue streams which meet customers' needs and/or generate opportunities for in–sourcing.

Location: This is a hybrid role with extensive travel required across the UK

Salary: GBPCompetitive depending on experience, a company car or car allowance and a range of generous benefits.

As part of the Commercial Team, your focus will be on delivering pilots, identifying those which are financially viable and have the scalability to be delivered throughout the McCarthy Stone portfolio.

Once a service has been successfully piloted, it will be passed to the Transformation team to roll–out and embed. As the main business focuses on Brilliant Basics, this role will maintain the ambition to grow McCarthy Stone Management Services into a profitable entity in its own right.

Key Responsibilities:
Identify and generate ideas by capturing customer needs which are unmet and/or under–served by McCarthy Stone Management Services to enable customers to better look after themselves and/or their property.
Manage ideas backlog and continuously prioritise ideas based on commerciality, feasibility, viability, potential scalability and business objectives.
Create service proposition reports, including scope, geography, stakeholder mapping, pilot plan and success criteria.
Conduct pilots to test viability and potential scalability of additional service lines, reviewing feedback and creating a cycle of continuous improvement.
Review and evaluate unsuccessful pilots, providing a written report to include learnings as well as communicating outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
Prepare successful pilots for scale–up, working alongside Transformation team to implement nationally as an additional service, both in new sites and by way of retro–fit.
Identify and manage limiting factors and/or risks to scale–up.
Produce reports for senior leadership to summarise performance of add–on services.

Other general responsibilities:
Maintain and improve standards and consistency by keeping up to date and operating within the latest defined standard specifications, using the approved documentation, process, systems, and source information to ensure consistent and effective performance.
Always fully comply with McCarthy Stone's policies and procedures.
Actively engage and collaboratively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Undertake such other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job holder's experience and qualifications as may be required for the smooth running of the business.
This is a national role and will require extensive travel throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Relationships:
Work with all key business stakeholders and functions – these include Services SLT, Services Operations, IT, Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal, Sales & Marketing and Build.
Develop key external strategic partnerships as required

Person Specification:

Knowledge & Experience:
Experience in a similar Service Development and/or Operational role within a Services business and able to evidence bringing new products / services to market.
Requires strong commercial and operational background.
Experience of delivering strategic projects and building new approaches to deliver success desirable.

Skills & Competencies:
Excellent commercial awareness with experience of reporting and managing ROCE.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions from data in a logical and systematic way.
Strong communication skills – including managing internal and external stakeholders; and preparing and presenting business plans and recommendations in a clear and compelling manner.
Able to plan strategic projects to manage expectations and deliver to deadlines
Applies critical thinking to identify a range of solutions to complex problems.
A highly collaborative approach, able to pull information from others with minimal impact / oversight and comfortable owning discrete deliverables.
Experience using Microsoft Applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint (or equivalents) Personal Attributes.
A collaborative team player who is not afraid to get stuck into the detail and be hands–on when needed.
Delivery focussed who responds positively to a high–pressure environment.
Able to constructively challenge and influence at all levels within the organisation.
