Deputy Head of Research – Who's Who Legal

Who's Who Legal, part of Law Business Research, one of the biggest players in global legal information services. WWL recommends lawyers and consulting experts in over 160 countries, based on extensive market research, and produces reports on more than 35 practice areas.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced researcher to join our London–based team as Deputy Head of Research, with responsibility for assisting with the running of the research and managing the 10–strong UK–based team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Research with the day–to–day running of the WWL research process, marshalling team resources, coordinating workloads and managing deadlines
• Edit and proof editorial copy, ensuring that high standards of research and writing are met by the team, and that a consistent approach is adopted
• Corresponding with and interviewing private practice lawyers and corporate contacts and building a strong network of contacts for research purposes
• Assisting with training for new team members
• Working with the Head of Research to identify ways to improve the reports and research processes

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• Educated to degree level
• A minimum of 2 years' research experience, ideally in a legal environment, is required
• Previous experience managing individuals in a research context is highly advantageous
• Previous experience with process coordination or project management is advantageous
• In addition the successful candidate should have:
• Excellent time management and strong organisational skills
• A very strong standard of written English, ideally with experience of copy–editing
