Treloar's is a charity which provides a highly specialist school, college and nursery for disabled children and young adults with complex needs.

We need a new Director of Fundraising and Marketing who can help take us forward in the impact we have on the lives of young people, and also help us change how society views disabled people.

Based in Hampshire, Treloar's is one of the UK's largest specialist education centres, supporting around 170 students who come from across the UK and overseas.

We are an organisation full of ambition, creativity, fun, joy, interest, initiative and inspiration.

Our current Director of Fundraising has retired after a highly successful 20 years. This has created the opportunity for a new post leading both the Fundraising and Marketing teams. In terms of the experience and skills we are seeking, the emphasis is on fundraising, with the ability to support our expert marketing team. However both functions are of equal vital importance to the charity and require quality leadership.

As a GBP25m charity, we are looking to build the next stage of our evolution, with a brand identity and level of voluntary and commercial trading income that matches our significance in the disability, education and care sector.

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Fundraising & Marketing will lead Treloar's charitable fundraising, meet targets and establish a highly–performing portfolio of fundraising activity underpinned by a strong case for support. They will provide management to Treloar's Marketing department and activities, spanning internal and external communications and a strong online identity with wide reach.

Key responsibilities:

  • Devise and be accountable for delivery of a fundraising strategy and plans, ensuring the meeting of targets
  • Manage the Fundraising Team to ensure Treloar's is maximising income and support from the various fundraising channels
  • Ensure donor stewardship systems are in place so that supporters are properly thanked and appreciated, and they maintain a positive relationship with the Charity
  • Advocate for our donors and supporters within the Charity, ensuring that charitable funds are used wisely and as agreed. This includes involvement in the allocating of grants from specific funds set up for this purpose
  • Support the Marketing manager and Marketing Team to devise and deliver a marketing strategy and plans, including managing the marketing budget
  • Work with senior leaders and the Marketing Department to manage our positioning as a national centre of excellence for the education and support of disabled children and young people, seeking opportunities to build our profile
  • Be responsible for our brand, including authorising its use externally, ensuring compliance with brand guidelines, and updating and evolving the brand where required
  • Ensure systems are in place so that students and staff are properly advised and protected when featuring in our fundraising and communications, and that all consent issues are managed according to best practice
  • Produce reports for the Board of Trustees, the Trustee Fundraising Committee, and other governance committees as appropriate, on matters relating to fundraising and marketing

We offer:

  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • Life insurance, Group Personal Pension Scheme & Occupational
  • Health schemes Health Cash Plan & Perkbox discount scheme
  • Free wellbeing activities (e.g. gym/yoga) Free parking & many other benefits
