SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and merchant of roofing and exterior products. We are currently looking to recruit an outgoing and enthusiastic Fire Protection Business Development Manager, who will have responsibility for a portfolio of clients in the Midlands and Northwest of England. We are building on our leading position in the market to drive sustainable growth, profitability and increased customer value.What does the role involve?As a Fire Protection Business Development Manager, you will provide a solution–based sales approach to both existing and new customers and develop, plan and work against targets within your region, delivering sales budgets of assigned products. You will provide expert knowledge and technical support to customers and external and internal sales colleagues, supporting branches with pricing and agreeing pricing policies for assigned products to ensure sales and margin growth, as well as working with key suppliers to facilitate training sessions and courses for contractors and SIG colleagues. To help you achieve your potential, you will be supported by the Divisional Sales Director – TI who will provide mentoring and coaching.The successful candidate will require:
  • Demonstrable sales experience in the passive fire protection industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of Fire Protection products and applications
  • Proven negotiation skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent business, commercial and financial acumen, with excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to articulate the corporate vision, translating it into effective strategic and operational plans gaining clear agreement from stakeholders
  • The ability to demonstrate creative thinking, with high ethical standards and the agility, confidence and flexibility to work in a high–pressure environment, whilst contributing to the success of the business
  • To be a professional, well–organised and self–directed individual, with the drive, ambition, capability and confidence to build lasting relationships with both existing and new customers
  • Strong analytical and data management skills, in addition to advanced level Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
