Our client is a privately owned and well established distribution business based near Leeds. The business is known for innovative and technologically sophisticated product development as well as outstanding service levels. The business is predominantly selling product B2B and has long standing relationships with distributors across the UK. The CEO, who is also a key stakeholder, is now looking to hire an FD to partner him driving the business forward and ultimately achieve successful exit for shareholders.

Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee Finance function across the group, which includes several different operations
  • Manage FX and treasury to include currency exposures
  • Oversee stock management and ensure stock levels are maintained appropriately
  • Add strategic value at Board level participating in all commercial decision making across the organisation
  • Take a lead role in leading a significant transaction event such as an exit.
  • Manage all costs, business risk and contract negotiation with both UK and international suppliers across the organisation
This role will suit an experienced Finance Director coming from a manufacturing background with experience of the challenges related to international supply chains, FX fluctuations and an uncertain and fragile economy facing the prospect of recession. In addition, strong excel modelling skills and the gravitas and charisma to present to third parties are essential to the success of this role. This is an exciting time to be joining this business as there is the opportunity to be instrumental in leading a significant monetisation event in the medium term.
