Interim Head of Finance

Are you an established and experience Head of Finance looking for your next interim role? Can you manage and support terms through high pressured times in the Finance calendar? My client is a well–recognised Charity based in Greater Manchester whose work is very much in the public eye. Of their multi–million–pound turnover, income comes from a variety of sources, with a key focus on an annual fundraising event, for which planning and preparation is well underway. They are now recruiting for an Interim Head of Finance for a period of three–to–six months, covering the following key responsibilities:

• Taking responsibility for the day to day running of finance while the current post–holder steps up internally
• Support and develop junior members of staff as the team and the organisation prepares for the upcoming annual fundraising event
• Ensure that during this busy period, reconciliations are carried out accurately, invoices are processed swiftly, and transactions are accounted for and reflected in the system appropriately
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and be the key point of contact within Finance, as well as lead on the preparation of financial statements
• Support more junior accountants in developing into Business Partnering–type roles as well as overseeing the monthly management accounts
• Lead the finance team through the busy period and ensure that all accounting functions surrounding the fundraising event operate smoothly.

To be considered, you should meet these criteria:

• Be a fully qualified accountant (Or QBE with substantial experience at the Head of Finance level)
• Have led on the preparation of financial statements, ideally in numerous interim roles, ideally within the Not for Profit sector or other Grant–making environments
• Be comfortable operating autonomously with little oversight or guidance from line managers
• Be a strong team manager who can develop, support, and motivate a team during challenging and busy periods.
