Role Purpose: The primary responsibility of the Head of Planning and Supply Chain is to manage the overall performance of the Planning and Supply Chain function in delivering the most efficient performance on Hozelock s Production and Distribution Centre, against our Customer requirements. This will include the planning of our day to day Production and strategic development of an S&OP process in optimising our planning and execution over a longer time period. To demonstrate to the Business that we have the right controls and measures in place to both deliver a strong performance and continue to develop improved processes and procedures for further improvement. You will challenge and work with the team, both within the Planning and Supply Chain function and the wider organisation in order to ensure that all operations are delivered to plan and in an efficient and demonstratable manner, on time and to budget. Key Responsibilities: Drive efficiencies in the Planning and Sales Administration functions to optimise the whole operational performance of Hozelock, from order entry to delivery to the Customer. Implement Business Strategies in relation to the Supply Chain business processes, systems, solutions and tools in collaboration with the plant operations teams to meet the needs of the Business. Develop and improve Supply Chain standards and ensure implementation and adherence within the Plants– which includes ensuring that the formally defined SIOPS plan from Supply Chain Planning team is implemented by the Plants with zero / minimal variations to MPS. Requires a strong ability to act as an independent centralised Supply Chain function that relentlessly and robustly challenges the Operations team to deliver to the Supply Chain plan, yet still be able to act as a knowledgeable and trustworthy business advisor to the Operations team. To have a the ability to create a clear and defined identity for the Supply Chain Execution team through setting clear roles and responsibilities within the Supply Chain function to extract maximum value from the organisation. Build and implement standard Supply Chain IT tools to support the Business process. Develop a strong relationship with all other functions of the Business, to enable effective business partnership critical to ensuring the success of a fully integrated Supply Chain function, that is not afraid to challenge and work together with its Business stakeholders to generate maximum value for the organisation. Act as a change maker and actively promote developmental and improvement activities, so as the Business is aware, integrated, aligned and engaged. Ensure that all developments are aligned to the overall Supply Chain strategy and the benefits can be demonstrated at the highest level of the organisation, both financially and operationally. Be able to operate at the highest level of effectiveness in all circumstances and be able to comfortably navigate through ambiguity and uncertainty during a significant change in the organisation. Continuously strive to proactively and relentlessly ensure that Supply Chain are considered leaders in the field and a key and valued part of the overall Business. Manage and control Supply Chain key activities, such as daily, weekly, monthly reporting and meetings/ measurements of KPI s to ensure we undertake the most efficient and progressive approach. Demonstrate the ability to work both as an individual and as part of a team where required. Create and maintain Manufacturing projections on stock to reflect our inventory control and Production/ DC requirements. Management of both finished and Component stock to ensure Customer s requirements are met and optimum stock levels are maintained. Mange the SIOP process to work closely with the rest of the Business in forecasting and managing our Operations process against Customer requirements. Support NPD development by creating ramp up plans, pilot builds, sample builds and full production with sign off and release to ship. Work closely with Sales to optimise Customer relationships and availability to ship against plan (SIOP) Continuously develop ways of working for both Planning and Sales Administration to improve transparency and visibility of performance and improvement plans. Work closely with Procurement to ensure all Suppliers are aligned to our Planning and Production requirements. Together, develop and improve Contract agreements to support our planning. Where possible develop and implement Kanban systems and processes to optimise Inventory control. Generate Capacity plans to specifically identify bottleneck potentials and implement mitigation plans to cover such circumstances. As part of the SIOP process develop manning requirements against plan and ensure Production and DC are manned correctly to optimise performance. Take responsibility for the Production plan sign off with Supply Chain Director and Operations Director to demonstrate plan. Deliver KPI performance against targets, for key areas such as COTIF, Inventory, Manning, Supplier Delivery, etc. Specific Functional Capabilities: Experience of driving change successfully and ability to influence stakeholders. Experience of international Supplier base, preferably with Asia. Responsible for the development of the Planning and Supply Chain team and direction. Strong appreciation of budget and financial KPI s. Experience of a fully functioning SIOP process, integrated across the Business
