REED HR are delighted to be partnering with a leading construction firm who are looking to recruit a Head of HR into their senior leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, high–octane work environment, with plenty of scope to shape the people agenda.Regarded as primarily an operational role, the role is to develop and reinforce the company's culture, development, organisation and recruitment. This role also oversees the management of the HR team, ensuring the growth and development of the department and individuals.The role offers hybrid working, flexible hours and a competitive benefits package.

  • Contributes to the development of the business and shows leadership qualities and decision–making ability within all stakeholder meetings
  • Possesses the courage to hold all stakeholders within the business accountable
  • Exhibits confidence to manage and resolve complex situations, demonstrating clarity of thought and possess the ability to balance employee relations vs business risk
  • Acts as Occupational Health & Safety Manager ensuring that the H&S management system complies with legislation and statutory requirements
  • Is accountable for core HR functions, accuracy of outputs, demonstrating sound commercial awareness and an understanding of business risks
  • Strives for continual improvement to processes and practices to gain efficiency and improve HR service delivery within the business
  • Acts as a go–to person for Management Team and Executive Directors on best people practice
  • Has a strong working knowledge of employment law and best practice
  • Continuously developing company policies and procedures, in line with legislative updates including health and safety.
  • To deliver employee engagement/initiatives, analysis of data and feedback, and provide business with recommendations at Management Board meetings
  • Maintain complete and accurate records for all staff members and subcontractors
  • Provide management reports to Management Team

Requirements for the role...

  • At least 7+ years' experience within a senior HR role or
  • Hold a degree in People Management or CIPD qualification (preferable)
  • Experienced leader with ability to create and develop an HR plan to support a 5–year business plan
  • Occupational H&S experience
  • Have previously held a Senior HR position
  • Experience of web–based HR information management systems implementation and delivery
