The Head of Commercial role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

The role

The difference our new Head of Commercial will makeAs a Head of Commercial, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be a part of the Naval Nuclear Commercial Team, providing support to our operations at HMNB Clyde; where we are a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy.

Day to day, you'll oversee the delivery of over a high value single source contract to the UK Ministry of Defence; whilst, providing governance to internal stakeholders for complex commercial issues, and acting as an escalation point for high risk, complex commercial issues.

Essential experience

Demonstratable commercial experience in robust management of large and complex contracts, bids and change initiatives in a regulated environment. Evidence of developing effective customer relationships and confident at negotiating independently within agreed delegations. Experience in effective management of a commercial team with proven leadership skills to maximise team potential. Experience in providing commercial governance and oversight to complex commercial projects. Ideally, defence experience in both a single source and competitive environment.
