Reports to: Managing Director UK

Purpose: To contribute to long term, profitable sales growth of our client by identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities for bespoke and standard injection moulded rigid plastic packaging.

Hybrid working: Home based, with one day per week at office in Nottingham

Main Areas of Responsibility:

• Identify, target, and develop new FMCG business prospects in line with sales strategy.• To develop relationships with key decision makers (at various levels and across distinct functions) within customers and key prospect companies.• To identify and understand customer needs consolidating these into clear project briefs so that the business can offer appropriate packaging solutions.• To monitor packaging trends in target market sectors and to work closely with the Design Department, to proactively propose innovative packaging formats for prospect customers.• To lead the costing, pricing and contract negotiations with customers and prospects to ensure maximum contribution is achieved for the business.• To devise and implement sales plans to achieve agreed sales budget targets.• To contribute to and/or prepare justification for capital investment to secure new business.• To monitor and maintain profitability of product portfolio through price and raw material cost adjustments.• To assist with marketing communication (e.g., trade shows, website).• To actively support the project management of new business opportunities.• Monthly sales reporting and disciplined CRM updates.• Selling additional services to generate and support profit plan.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Sales Metrics including new and existing sales conversion, client contribution values• Management of key accounts• Generating new enquiries as part of commercial plan.• Budget and operational plan targets.• Performance monitoring through annual PDR process.• Generation of new business opportunities to fruition.

Knowledge, skills and Experience

• Experience in NBD, with an understanding of the rigid plastic design process.• Technical appreciation important.• Commercially astute.• Project management.• Core technologies (IM, ISBM).• Core sectors to include food, personal care & household

• A strong technical understanding of rigid plastic packaging material • Good appreciation of UK packaging recycling and sustainability initiatives and market trends• Understanding of market brand and approaches to sustainability, and how our client might support them on their sustainability journey.
