Business Development Manager

Are you a highly successful sales professional with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets for a specific geographical region? The UK s largest distributor of surfacing materials is recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join their growing team covering the Swindon area. This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday 8.30am 5.30pm with a salary up to GBP30,000 per annum + car allowance (GBP450 per month) + 7% quarterly bonus based on performance and objectives set. Other benefits include 31 days holiday (increasing to 33 with length of service), pension, and life assurance. As a Business Development Manager you will report into the Regional Sales Manager with responsibility for maintaining your existing client base and winning new business in your territory. To represent and promote the company with customers and to generate sales enquiries and orders from both new and existing accounts, to achieve budgeted sales in your region. You will identify key accounts and build strong relationships with those customers, providing an excellent standard of ongoing customer care, planning territory visits to ensure that customers are contacted at the required frequency. You will be proactive and assertive in seeking new business and re–activating dormant accounts. The role will also include negotiating sales deals that will achieve budgeted margins and which conform to the company s sales policies. You will gather competitor and customer information and report weekly on general market activity to the branch manager whilst maintaining and growing your existing customer portfolio. We are keen to hear from applicants with at least 2 years experience in a field sales role with proven success in exceeding targets. Any knowledge of the trade industry (kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms or office furniture) or laminates, worktops, flooring, solid surface or panelling products would be advantageous. A clean driving license is a requirement for this role as you will be travelling majority of the week.
