Essential Responsibilities In this role, you will be based out of our SE England office and will provide the technical and development lead within the deal team, responsible for leading the technical and project development workstreams and ensuring that both technical and commercial risks are suitably identified, considered and mitigated as part of each project investment case. Post–acquisition, you will also act as the lead for portfolio management of the respective project, ensuring optimum asset performance. As a core member of the team, you will also: Lead technical due diligence processes during investment and/or sell–down phases. This includes being responsible for technical sign–off for investment decisions. Assess deal/project opportunities from early to late stage (pre and post permitting) including teasers, due diligence reports, energy yield reports, construction and operations contracts, etc. Provide active input into the deal structure/strategy, with a particular focus on ensuring deals meet the standards of their risk appetite and, if applicable, project–finance standards. Optimise project design and input into model assumptions through technology selection and other project parameters, ensuring maximum value–delivery and balanced–risk. Lead construction and operations contracts, tender processes and contract negotiations, ensuring final contract structures and terms are deemed bankable. Project–manage core project development workstreams and interfacing with financial advisory teams to ensure appropriate structuring for project financing. You will also provide commercial advice on the deal structure and documentary controls. Provide active management of assets during construction and operations (with a specific focus on HSE, budget and delivery timing). Actively and continually scrutinise and optimise asset OPEX and performance to maximise operating value. Hire team members and develop processes/systems for managing various aspects of project development and construction. Qualifications / Requirements The successful candidate will bring: Experience working in renewable sector in one or more of the following technologies: onshore wind, offshore wind, solar PV, hydrogen or battery storage. Significant experience of A degree in engineering and a post graduate qualification in Finance/Business, or equivalent. 10+ years of experience working on renewable energy projects from investment through to construction and into operations. Demonstrable experience in managing projects in the field of due diligence, project planning and design and construction. Well networked with the independent consultants in the field of technical diligence, design engineering and construction management.
