Company Description

Starcom is the Human Experience Company; we believe that our clients' competitive advantage lies in understanding people better, and acting on that understanding faster than the competition.

The future lies in bringing together media, creativity and data to create powerful experiences that will drive faster growth. We are the flagship Publicis Media agency to do this through our Power of One client teams that span clients such as Stellantis, P&G, Samsung, P&O and Visa.

We work differently to most agencies and base many of our models on consultancy ways of working to build a more agile workforce in this hybrid world. We complement our account teams with Squads – small teams that work for a short period to solve a specific brief. We hold cross discipline Sprints to crack client briefs at speed. These processes are designed to fuel high performance and fast results through collaboration.

Starcom operates in over 100 markets across the world. We have very close ties to our global HQ in Chicago who encourage learning and sharing best practice with our colleagues around the world. We are part of Publicis Groupe.

Job Description

Department: Samsung EU, Starcom

Reports to: European Digital Lead

Flexibility: We operate a 3:2 model (3 days from home, 2 in the TVC office)

Here at Starcom, we're looking for an experienced, ambitious Performance Planning Director to join the fabulous Visa European Operations team. In this role, you'll focus on driving the Samsung Direct–to–Consumer European planning, which typically covers campaigns for their Smartphones, TVs and Smartwatches.

What will I be doing?

From briefing at the very beginning, to strategic understanding and account handling through to writing guidelines and playbooks for local teams to activate and post campaign analysis, you will be involved in each aspect of a campaign. You'll work as part of a much wider team and have frequent contact to local market teams as well as daily basis European client contacts, and have a team beneath you running the day to day activity that the team is responsible for.

In addition, you'll also:

  • Lead the creation of media toolkit for local teams to guide performance planning and implementation of campaigns with a particular focus on Direct–to–Consumer/ecommerce.
  • Support the European Digital Lead in building and manage a highly skilled team of digital professionals and help shape our growth culture.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key clients in both the media and CRM teams.
  • Support European Digital Lead to deliver on the digital road map and drive 1st party data tech capability and innovation across European markets.

You will have the chance to step up your thinking and be a major contributor in shaping the thinking and work of local brand and agency teams in market. You'll still have a foot in the performance world, but this role will also allow you to apply that experience in a more strategic, forward thinking way.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

You'll be a proven performance marketer who can tell compelling stories through data and contextualize and explain sometimes complex thinking in simple language.

In addition, you'll have:

  • A digital performance background (with experience across a variety of biddable platforms, for example search, programmatic and/or social)
  • You'll know what good looks like in a campaign, and be able to talk independently about likely outcomes when using each platform.

What's in it for you?

Our goal is to help every individual reach their fullest potential and we encourage everyone to make "Brave Plays" in how they approach their work and their own career development. As a result, we have an exceptionally energised and committed talent base, all of us proud of our welcoming and supportive culture, as evidenced by our recognition as one of Campaign's Best Places to Work in 2021 and 2022. In return for you bringing your experience, talent and full self to work, we'll provide you with the opportunity to learn.

For this role, if you're a senior biddable, performance, digital Account Director who wants to take the next step in your career, this role is for you. You'll step away from the day to day activation elements of typical performance roles and will really have a say in the strategic side of the team, influencing the culture of the Samsung EU team at Starcom and helping to build the partnership that we are building with the client.

Please don't hesitate to submit an application if this role sounds like it could be a great next step for you. We have an open and inclusive recruitment process (which will be two stages for this role) so please let us know if you need any adjustments at all, have a particular pronoun you prefer to use or just want to talk to us about something.
