With a focus on developing new technology and products, particularly for the UK & European agricultural sector, individuals with the ability to drive and influence this highly innovative engineering centre of excellence are sought to take a leading role in the advancement of electrification, smart farming, and autonomous technology. Role & Responsibilities Perform system architecture, system design, functional safety, embedded software design, development, and V&V, based on Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) for vehicle controls. Responsible for developing, mentoring, and supervising over team responsible in delivery of control systems engineering for Electronic Control Systems including Autonomous Driving Controls, Transmission Controls, Electrification Controls and Precision Agriculture Controls. Perform MATLAB/Simulink Model based controller development to prove–out new vehicle features and electronic functions. Assess and analyse requirements – software design, coding, unit testing, architect level reviews, software releases and project management being the core areas of responsibilities. Perform Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) and model–based MIL/SIL/HIL validations for system functionality. Implement automated testing tools to validate models through simulation and model checking. Generate automatic production code using EC/RTW/Target–link optimised for the product architecture. Interface with project teams to integrate control system/software at tractor level, carryout performance trails and technology demonstrations. The Person Ideally degree educated or equivalent in Electronics & Communication / Electrical & Electronics Engineering, you will be an ECE/EEE Engineer with ideally 8 years or more experience of implementing electronic control systems based on Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) in control algorithm development and MIL/SIL/HIL testing. Perform Model based controller development to prove–out new vehicle features and electronic functions. Experience in product development using MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder/RTW, M–scripts and associated control system toolboxes, CANalyser, CANoe and Speedgoat TargetLink etc. Automotive Functional Design in any of the following areas – Powertrain, Steering Control, autonomous/ADAS controls, Electrification plus diagnostics & calibration experience. Perform Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) and model–based MIL/SIL/PIL/HIL validations for system functionality. Knowledge of ISO26262, AUTOSAR, MISRA and MAAB Modelling guidelines. Implement automated testing tools to validate models through simulation and model checking. Generate automatic production code using EC/RTW/Target–link optimised for the product architecture. Investigate requirements and design solutions, generate value–addition by leveraging model–based–design in Automotive Technology Development Process. Proven working knowledge of vehicle based networking and communications protocols (including CANbus J1939, UDS, KWP etc) Responsible for the direct management of 3–5 engineers plus several indirect reportees, you will possess existing team mentoring and coaching abilities, while also being able to manage your own workload and ensure delivery of programme milestones.
