Director of Primary Care Remote with travel Full time, Permanent Role Salary up to GBP100,000 dependent on experience Excellent company benefits Purpose of the role We are currently recruiting for a remote based Director of Primary Care. The role will involve overseeing the operational and commercial performance of a well–established healthcare practice. The post holder will ensure that Business is fit for purpose to meet modern standards. They will look for opportunities to improve the commercial and clinical performance of primary care contracts, whilst working closely with lead clinicians and the Practice management team to improve integrated governance across the services. The post holder will remain responsible for the operations, people and commercial management of the sites. They will support the development of strategic direction for the services and will be responsible for the quality, governance and CQC compliance Responsibilities of the role You will oversee the contractual performance of each of the primary care services and line manage the Practice / Business Managers and the Primary Care Development Manager. You may line manage other Primary Care Management posts. You will ensure strategies are in place to maximize the financial and clinical performance of each of these areas, providing clear quarterly operational and financial reports on the contractual performance of each service. You will develop an environment that encourages proactive approach to improving the service and that fosters a strong sense of accountability and reward throughout the organisation. You will be a member of the the Senior Leadership team and will work as part of that team to develop strategic developments that enable the business to meet new demands . This will include a new focus on developmental There will be a focus on new operational models of delivery within the practice. The Director of Primary Care will line manage the Primary Care Development Manager in this regard. Develop a centrally controlled management of administrative and recall systems across primary care. Work with the Primary Care Development Manager and local Practice Managers to develop new opportunities Work with the SLT to select the most attractive general practice and urgent care procurements. Liaise with the Financial Controller to conduct Due Diligence on new contracts to protect the interests of the business and to brief the SLT on potential liabilities of any new contracts. Take overall responsibility of the contractual performance of the portfolio of primary care contracts. Attend contract review meetings to ensure that the business is always represented in the most advantageous way. Work closely with the Managing Director to negotiate / renegotiate terms for each of the primary care contracts. Ensure that the company is always compliant with CQC requirements. Sit on the Integrated Governance Committee, to take a holistic view, with a particular focus on risk factors and systems to mitigate risk. Rapidly analyse extremely complex and sometimes conflicting financial information Be able to generate options for change and financial improvement and systematically evaluate them across a range of parameters. Judge how to react for the benefit of our Primary Care Services under highly pressurised situations. Requirements of the role The ability to sometimes work odd or long hours to complete special requests or projects. Excellent organisational, time and stress management skills to complete required tasks The ability to deal with emergencies and stressful situations To remain confidential at all times To have good understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998 To have a good understanding of the responsibility placed on them under the Health and Safety Act at Work 1974 To work at any of the employers locations in line with service needs Co–operate with all policies and procedures designed to ensure equality of employment.
