Job title: Head of Engineering – Site Engineering Location: Barrow–in–Furness Salary: Competitive What you'll be doing: Owning & continually developing site engineering & asset management policies and processes ensuring appropriate & consistent deployment by audit Ensuring Site Facility design is fit for purpose and meets legal, regulatory, contractual, environmental and technical requirements and business standards for integrity and safety Owning & managing the governance for Nuclear Site Licence Conditions 19 (Construction or installation of new plant), 20 (Modification to design of plant under construction), 21 (Commissioning), 22 (Modification or experiment on existing plant) and 25 (Operational Records). Creating through life asset management plans defining fit for purpose maintenance strategies & prioritised investment demands in alignment with the site strategic objectives to ensure the S&F assets can meet the current & future needs of the business Acting as independent Engineering Authority across all S&F Assets on behalf of Subs Engineering Director Issuing Engineering Advice Notice for any breaches or potential breaches of Regulatory or internal SHE arrangements Providing technical engineering advice & support to the maintenance, operations & project teams Producing and approving engineering functional requirements, accept design solutions, maintain engineering oversight, validate engineering integrity, protect & maintain engineering baseline for all projects on S&F assets Leading the transformation and continuous improvement against Asset Management ISO5000 on behalf of Submarines You'll also have people manager responsibilities in this role Your skills and experiences: Degree in Engineering and Chartered membership of professional body Previous experience of leading a multi–disciplinary engineering team in a large asset intensive organisation Demonstrable experience of deployment of Asset Management principles in accordance with ISO55000 to drive improved asset performance Good understanding of working under a Nuclear Site Licence & in a heavily regulated business Proven experience in leading and driving change Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other teams to deliver goals Benefits: You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan. The Site & Facilities team: The Site & Facilities organisation is accountable for the provision of safe, legal and compliant site facilities, infrastructure, plant & equipment for operational use by the boat programme delivery teams on the Barrow Site. As the Head of Site Engineering, you will report to the Head of Site and Facilities and will lead a multi–disciplined engineering organisation providing independent assurance that the site assets are being operated and maintained in accordance with statutory, legal and company requirements as well as driving improvements to ensure that the assets are fit for purpose for the current and future needs of the business.
