This is a very special opportunity in the Scottish corporate broking market. This senior role has arisen as a result of the retirement of a prominent Corporate Account Director from this prestigious global broking house in Scotland. Our client is arguably the top corporate broker in the world; not only because of the high–profile organisations that it represents, but also because of the incredible careers that it offers its employees. It is very rare that people leave this business, which is reflected in its enviable employee satisfaction surveys and loyal client base. Moreover, the company is performing tremendously well – enjoying impressive year on year growth and continuing to win more industry awards and plaudits. The person who recently retired fulfilled a range of key responsibilities, and our client is ideally looking for someone who can, 'step into their shoes. Whilst the role can be tweaked to suit you, it will include servicing a manageable portfolio of corporate risks (these can be tailored in line with your expertise and interests), and acting in an ambassadorial capacity in the Scottish broking market. In addition, you will lend your client–facing and technical skills in order to assist with the branch s new business pitches and key renewals, as well as assisting less–experienced colleagues with more complex referrals. We must stress that this is NOT a targeted sales role; the focus here is very much on the servicing of loyal clients, and the sharing of your knowledge and well–honed skills within the corporate broking arena. There are very few broking organisations that can match the infrastructure of this firm, and you ll enjoy working in a highly collaborate team, which will include, but certainly not be limited to highly technical Placement Brokers, Technicians, New Business Producers, Risk Managers and Claims Executives, as well as a myriad of Subject Matter Experts across the company which span practically every conceivable class of insurance business! It is essential that you have strong technical skills, which will almost certainly include Property and Casualty insurance as a minimum. In addition, you will have an impressive track record of effectively managing corporate accounts, as well as holding strong relationships in the market. You ll be a real team player who enjoys working towards shared goals and objectives, and you ll be enthusiastic about assisting the overall team with new business wins and client retention. Given your ambassadorial duties, you ll be well–presented, with first–class communication and presentation skills. The sky really is the limit in this company, and whatever your career goals and objectives, the business will work closely with you in order for you to achieve these. Refreshingly, our client was a huge advocate of agile–working long before the pandemic and as such, you ll enjoy working for a business that is free from micro–management, where you ll benefit from a great deal of autonomy within a truly "results–based" business. This is a superb opportunity to bring your expertise to a formidable broking team, working within a highly supportive and innovative environment alongside some of the industry s most gifted corporate insurance professionals. You will be rewarded with a generous basic salary (entirely negotiable, depending on your previous experience), together with one of the industry s most impressive flexible–benefits packages.
