Are you an Assistant Director of SEN looking for a new opportunity? I am working with a Central London Local Authority on a Hybrid working role
Rate – GBP600 to GBP650 per day – Negotiable dependent upon experience – inside ir35
Your Role
To lead, develop, organise and control the SEND service area ensuring the delivery of the service meets all Council, professional and legislative requirements. The role is responsible for forging and maintaining strong and resilient relationships with schools, education settings, colleges and voluntary sector partners to build capacity for the education and well–being of children and young adults with SEND. The Assistant Director will work in partnership with a range of internal and external partners, especially health and social care, to achieve the best outcomes.
Effectively implement national legislation, policies and guidance and Council policies and discharge the Council s statutory responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership for the Council s work in relation to Inclusion, specifically the statutory and regulatory functions in relation to SEN, behaviour and attendance.
Ensure effective links with the wider development of employment and training opportunities and with the development of approaches to support independent living for adults with learning disabilities
Manage and commission provision of specialist and advisory teaching support to schools, parents, early years settings and post 16 providers, through contracting arrangements with specialist provider
Contribute to the long term strategic plans of the directorate by collaborating with senior management and heads of service, managers in their team to help set the strategic direction SEND is going to take
