JOB OVERVIEW
The Global Head of Business Curriculum (GHB) is a key role in the Learning Effectiveness Team (LET). The role will ensure continuous improvement of our student outcomes including progression, continuation and performance in our Business courses and modules. The Learning Effectiveness team s function is to support the delivery of high quality and holistic approach to education for all our student cohorts. This role sits in the Curriculum Office and the focus of the team is to support quality and effectiveness in our curriculum and teaching and learning, supporting excellent student outcomes for students based in international study centres, colleges, learning hubs and managed campuses as well as students studying via online modes. By using evidence–based approaches to teaching we promote innovation and research, whilst seeking continuous quality enhancements to support excellent student success outcomes.
Business is a significant area of the curriculum in delivery both in Centres and Colleges around the Study Group network, and also for online provision. Business subjects are delivered at Foundation, Degree level (IY1 and IY2) and at Pre–Masters levels across the network. The role holder will play a significant part in assuring the academic standards of Business subject delivery, whilst achieving the Learning Effectiveness Team s goals with respect to the standardisation and rationalisation of the curriculum. The role holder will also be responsible for leading a community of practitioners around continuous improvement cycles, ensuring excellent subject knowledge and/or business expertise as well as ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. The role will also aim to stimulate innovative practices offered in blended modes – as well as purely digital.
Working closely with the Director of Curriculum, the role holder will develop network–wide plans, implement new strategies and ensure consistency with assessment, learning and teaching and subject policies, standards and regulatory frameworks. Subject knowledge expertise, experience in leading academic teams successfully and a keen eye for curriculum detail, the role holder will work with the Learning Effectiveness Team, Centre Heads and Subject leads to develop a community of excellence in teaching.
As well to the face–to–face curriculum mode of delivery, the CO is responsible for delivering a completely digital mode of delivery. These digital courses are developed for delivery via the insendi learning experience platform, so it will be expected that you quickly become an expert user to fully understand the student, faculty and administrator experience for the courses that you are developing.
Most importantly, we are looking for a team player. Your work in the Curriculum Office is interdisciplinary with colleagues that need to develop consistent curricula but you will work with other colleagues in the Learning Effectiveness team, for example, Teaching and Learning, Quality. You will also work very closely with the Product team who will be responsible for publishing the curricula. In particular, you will work with the learning and digital designers to ensure that what is developed can be made as a digital product. Outside the Learning Effectiveness and Product team, you will be collaborating with our global network of centres to ensure that the curriculum is appropriate for the students and for the requirements of our partner university. Our success and the quality of the curricula we produce are only possible thanks to the collaboration and working environment that exists within our CO and the wider team of our organisation.
