The Company:

We are delighted to be working exclusively with our client, a leading manufacturer with a reputation for innovation, to recruit a Financial Controller.

The Role:

To oversee the financial business function ensuring full compliance with regulatory bodies and reporting requirements.
  • Complete annual budget within required timescales as required by Group and in compliance with corporate reporting template. Liaise and review with MD and on-site management to ensure accuracy of data provided.
  • Manage, motivate, and lead a team of 4.
  • Ensure that ERP system is updated in line with above submission.
  • Production, preparation, and review with on site management the Quarterly forecast submission for approval by MD.
  • Complete the Board meeting presentation pack to set timetable.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations with CFO.
  • Production, preparation, and review with on site management and MD the monthly reporting pack by working day 5 of following month.
  • Ensure that the monthly/rolling 12/18 month forecast P&L/Balance Sheet/Cash-flow are updated by day 5 of following month.
  • Ensure that the monthly margin analysis reports are circulated in a timely manner.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations with MD.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Staff payroll
  • All statutory reporting
  • First point of contact for HMRC, Auditors, Pensions, Insurers, Energy provider and Site Security.
  • Ensure that the companies legal pension obligations are met.
  • Ensure full compliance with Group banking requirements, developing financial controls and ensuring line of credit is within agreed parameters.
  • Work with MD on rolling 5-year business plan ensuring alignment with Group Strategic Plan.
  • Work with MD on business operational improvements in line with business objectives.
  • Oversee financial capital investments ensuring Group procedures for approval are followed and sufficient ROI exists to support investment.
  • Work with management team on business improvements to reduce cost, remove waste and improve efficiency.
  • Oversee STD Costing function within business and STD to Actual system costs is maintained.
  • Produce Financial Information for operational management.
  • Develop, implement, ensure proper internal financial controls are functioning correctly.
  • Responsible for overseeing the companies IT System.
Key skills:
  • ACCA/CIMA or ACA or equivalent experience considered
  • A manufacturing background
  • The ability to lead, motivate and manage a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Strong IT skills including Intermediate/Advanced Excel
  • Resilient, able to work effectively under pressure
  • Work to tight timescales
  • A continuous improvement approach
