Our growing digitisation programme team produces data driven applications to improve our current business, and also create new opportunities for our customers in the UK and around the world. The team is part of the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business, which operates across the UK.

We are looking for someone with a background in Management Information Systems (MIS) service support and information analysis to work with internal and external customers. You will provide leadership to the in–service team to ensure that customer issues and requests are analysed, understood, and managed through to closure. This role will also involve working closely with the development team to ensure any customer issues that result in updates or enhancements are prioritised, scheduled, and their lifecycle managed alongside ongoing product development. Finally, your role will also involve providing recommendations for improvements or new areas for development based on customer feedback. This will include investigating and assessing processes and tools, determining customer needs and requirements to deliver data–driven recommendations.

The work associated with this role will include:

Providing and leading in–service support to our global user base which includes representing the company at regular working groups attended by our key customers and industrial partners
Managing customer issues and requests
Supporting and working closely with the development team
Gathering and refining customer and stakeholder requirements
Information and data analysis
Supporting the creation of compelling business winning proposals

Our team is spread across the UK, and you can be based on any of our main UK sites to do this role. Leonardo also operates a Custom (hybrid) working model that allows our employees to split their time between attending the workplace and working remotely.
Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, the Principal Systems Engineer for In–Service Support will:
Lead and manage our in–service support for our deployed MIS software
Regularly review customer feedback with the team and prioritise the implementation of bug fixes, upgrades and enhancements to meet customer needs
Explore and identify opportunities for improvement, including service or product improvements, or adoption of new approaches, considering the cost–benefit analysis
Manage the relationships with the key user groups, including seeking to understand their needs, facilitating workshops, ensuring regular communication and managing expectations
Investigate, analyse, visualise, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts, making decisions based on available information
Support process and user testing, including analysing performance and usability
Utilise expertise with respect to service support and information management to provide technical input to business winning proposals
Promote a culture of best practice sharing and knowledge exploitation
