What you ll be doing

Lead and develop a small team accountable for providing a single source of Portfolio Reporting and data insights capability across the Thames Water asset investment portfolio – to give visibility of financial, asset, and customer performance levels enabling informed decision making, with clear lines of sight to strategic and regulatory performance outcomes
Work closely with business wide data teams to define and develop investment portfolio dashboards that can be used to drive intelligent business decision making, based upon accurate data with clear lines of sight from portfolio performance to business plan objectives.
Define portfolio reporting principles to ensure alignment of investment decisions to current and future business plan outcomes.
Manage business–critical information including the analyses and presentation of portfolio performance metrics using dashboards in a format to suit the intended audience i.e., executive decision makers, Investment committees, Programme steering groups, regulators, and Programme managers.
Development and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Portfolio Performance reports aligned with Business Plan strategic objectives against the overall measure of performance established by the regulator.
Provide ad–hoc internal and external business plan reporting based upon portfolio performance as may be requested by the business, external stakeholders, or regulators. Develop report request processes linked with service level agreements and prioritisation criteria to manage reporting workload.
Implement performance trending approaches against reported information and prepare reports to facilitate longer–term portfolio decision–making, linking current performance to longer–term goals.
Develop medium–term performance projection capabilities to model the scenarios developed by Investment teams incorporating future operational and financial performance incorporating resilience measures.
Identify and investigate portfolio, programme, and project exceptions, work with finance ensuring that the data held within various corporate systems is an accurate reflection of the company s financial position. Take appropriate remedial action and develop recommendations to resolve any underlying systems issues across the business.
Work with Operations and wider investment teams to ensure the accurate reporting of Capital Maintenance activities against budget and in line with business plan objectives.
Work with Business Change to define business requirements regarding data and reporting. Develop robust business cases for the changes required to increase TW s reporting and performance capabilities for inclusion in the long–term business change roadmap. What you should bring to the role

Hold a degree or an equivalent appropriate professional body qualification
Strong Business and portfolio delivery skills with financial data and analytics capabilities
An inspiring leader, able to create and champion a clear vision for the future and motivate others to follow and implement the change required to achieve that vision

Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
Demonstrable track record of implementing best practice portfolio performance reporting techniques to drive value for money and an outcome delivery approach
Strong commercial/financial track record developed within a multi–stakeholder and regulated environment

This is a key leadership role requiring significant levels of decision–making and influence to drive the changes required to deliver the Thames Water turnaround plan.
