The SatCom Programme Director role is based within our Mission Systems business area.

The role
The difference our new SatCom Programme Director will makeAs a SatCom Programme Director, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is a newly created and significant leadership role, we are seeking a SatCom Programme Director, grow and deliver the capability needed to provide Satellite Communications (SatCom) Beyond Line Of Sight (BLOS) to UK Government.
Day to day, you'll provide leadership which inspires Team Aurora, Babcock's SatCom enterprise, driving high performance behaviours aligned to the Babcock Purpose and Principles, establish and operate a SatCom delivery organisation (a 'Focus Area') to execute the programme within the C&CA Capability and Mission Systems balanced matrix structure, oversee effective stakeholder management and communication, including leading the customer relationship and lead/support commercial negotiations with the customer and development of strategic supply chain relationships.

Essential experience
A track record of delivering high–profile large–scale projects and programmes for government customers. History of leading a large multi–disciplined team. Clear ability to anticipate risks, identify delivery issues early, and mitigate through pro–active recovery plans to avoid cost/schedule/quality impacts. Evidence of strong technical knowledge and stakeholder networks in a domain relevant to BLOS communications. Sound commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical and programme outcomes with commercial needs. Must already hold or be capable and prepared to undergo DV security clearance.
