Communications Business Partner – 6 months interimHybrid 2–3 days in office per weekFTSE100 FMCG – Comms BP to Finance and LegalRole Purpose:
  • To act as the communications strategic counsel for the function, advising on the right approach to improve employee engagement in the function and more broadly within the business
  • To define and execute the 360–degree communications strategy and plan for the function, in line with corporate brand and communications objectives
  • To articulate and drive understanding of the functional strategies, new/current programs, new initiatives and connected employee engagement
  • To establish a unified voice and consistent messaging for the function, Leadership teams including internal content creation, cadence of messaging via various channels and platforms and execution internally to the functions and across the business
  • To co–ordinate & facilitate internal events including townhalls, fireside chats and conferences
  • To demonstrate the effectiveness of the communications strategy through robust measurement against KPI s to inform continuous improvement
  • To contribute to the Corporate Affairs Editorial Board to ensure there is the appropriate prioritisation and impact of all communications to employees and to provide a regular stream of stories, contributing to the business storytelling efforts aligned to the global narrative
  • To advising on reactive communications – and being ready to create and deploy tactics to meet changing needs
  • To identifying, analysing and preparing risk mitigation communications or engagements
  • To build communications capability of senior leaders within the function, particularly around transformation to support their teams and improve engagement
  • To partner with External Affairs on the key messaging and activations for functional specific initiatives, ensuring there is alignment with the functional strategy
  • To support the Functional LT on their engagement plans externally and internally, with a particularly focus on digital platforms
Required skills and experience:
  • 10+ years communications expert with a particular focus on employee engagement in global organisations
  • Strategic communications planning and execution to improve reputation
  • Internal channel optimisation and content development
  • Social media management and activation
  • Media relations experience: key message development
  • Media training senior stakeholders
  • Content marketing and development
  • Stakeholder engagement, particularly with senior leaders in a business
  • Change management and/or change communications within an organisation
  • Speech writing and development
  • Strong business acumen and experience of operating within a leadership team outside core area of expertise
