Financial Controller

An organically growing construction business based in Wolverhampton is looking to recruit a new Financial Controller. A highly visible role with ultimate responsibility to the Managing Director and the Board. There will be opportunities for an entrepreneurial Financial Controller to contribute to not only the growth but also the strategic direction of the business.This is an innovative and progressive environment where the Board of Directors are always looking for the next opportunity for growth and scale. The Financial Controller is required to maintain all financial controls and systems, and implement further enhancements for the next stage of growth and development of the business.Key responsibilities: The preparation of month end management accounts and VAT returns for the group Present monthly management accounts to the Board Ensure the completion of bank and balance sheet reconciliations Manage the group audit process and liaise with external partners Oversee the preparation of year end group consolidated statutory accounts Manage, mentor and motivate the finance team Support the development of budgets, forecasts and cashflow Oversee all aspects of payroll Contribute to company financial strategy and decision–making processes Undertake financial analysis and reporting Ensure robust financial systems and controls are in place Overseeing group tax and compliance Developing forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) Group treasury managementThe Ideal Candidate: You will be a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) Experienced in consolidating group accounts Excellent communicator and presenter at all levels Ability to analyse and make recommendations, alongside the capacity to drive through key business changes Strong business acumen and understanding of financial issues Experience of Sage would be of benefit Experience of Construction Industry desirable
