Chief Executive Officer

Lilian Faithfull Care is a charity with over 76 years experience of caring for older people in Gloucestershire. They are in care for the right reasons – not for profit. Their 'Home for Life pledge means that they will never ask a resident to leave their homes for financial reasons.

The charity has expanded since 1946 from twelve residents living in one home to; 300 residents in five care homes, two–day centres, and affordable flats, all supported by a team of over 450 staff.

Lilian Faithfull has several growth initiatives and projects underway and the opportunity for further development of the Charity is significant.

They are now seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive for the Charity.

This role combines the strategic vision to work with the Board of Trustees to define the direction of the charity with the day–to–day management of the charity and its operations.

For this role, we are seeking a courageous and strategic thinker who is able to innovate safely, inspire and motivate staff, problem solve, and lead the organisation in its next stage of development.

As well as a commitment to and empathy with the basic tenets and goals of the organisation candidates must have:

• Strong business and financial acumen (gained in a business of equivalent size with P&L responsibility)
• Strategy development (with an ambitious and innovative attitude to strategic development)
• Proven leadership skills (with the ability to motivate and manage in a complex multi–site business
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (with the ability to represent the charity internally and externally)
• Not for Profit/ Charity knowledge.

Other desirable (but not essential) experience includes:

• Commercial experience
• Care sector experience
• Experience of a regulatory environment
• Experience/ knowledge of working with a Charity Board
• Property development/ estate management knowledge
