About the Head of Design role:
Your role will be to lead our design and technical team to add value to Peabody s projects throughout their various workstages – from site appraisal to post–occupancy lessons learnt, and everything in between – by co–driving development decisions from an overall quality, efficiency, sustainability, safety, and design distinctiveness perspective.
You ll deliver values–driven service to your internal and external customers, by seeking to understand fully your customers needs, identifying, and working to remove pain points, and always doing what you say you will.
What we're looking for in our Head of Design:
A registered or chartered construction professional with an architecture, engineering or other design discipline background and qualification
Strong leadership skills to help build a diverse and inclusive organisation
An advocate for the value of, and contribution made by, good design decisions in the deployment of scarce time and money resources
Able to pro–actively and coherently communicate the above message with credibility at senior level and throughout the industry
An inquisitive and strategic thinker
Able to challenge yourself and your team to find innovative and accurate solutions to complex situations
An ability to provide comprehensible directions and step–by–step guidance to those who need it
What you can expect to be doing as our Head of Design:
Manage team of design and technical personnel to add value at key project and programme touchpoints
Advise on and contribute to any new business (land and partnerships) appraisals and viability stacks with a view to maximising innovative design opportunities
Contribute on key strategic decisions for schemes such as the selection of design consultants, design briefing, and ensuring robust scopes of services are deployed within appointments
Oversee the practical implementation of the development sustainability strategy
Oversee the scheduling and preparation of projects – and their design/development management teams
