Ocean Freight Programme Manager – Requirements

  • 5+ years of transportation or logistics experience at the same or similar level
  • Previous experience managing ocean freight requirements for a manufacturer
  • Experience in implementing ocean freight strategy to maximise profits
  • A proven track record in managing ocean freight requirements
  • You should be experienced in implementing and improving processes to deliver cost effective solutions
  • Implementation of ocean freight strategy is essential
  • You should also be able to positively influence business stakeholders with your advanced analytical and influencing skills

Ocean Freight Programme Manager – Academic Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in logistics, transportation, or related field

Ocean Freight Programme Manager – Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day ocean freight process ensuring cost transparency and efficiency. The candidate should have a proven track record managing Ocean Freight operation to ensure that the Company has visibility in both stock and is taking the appropriate decisions at the right time in the supply chain to ensure cost efficiency
  • Introduce New Systems and Technology to improve processes, visibility, and Cost Reduction. Work with stakeholders to introduce technological solutions to improve the Company's efficiency and processes
  • Highlight process improvement opportunities and implement improvements in collaboration with Paper and PS across the total supply chain, not just the ocean freight element. The candidate should have track record of implementing and improving processes to deliver a cost–effective solution
  • Review, update and implement the Ocean Freight strategy across the Company. Working with the Senior Management of both Group Logistics and the Supply Engine team the successful candidate will develop the existing strategy to ensure we have one approach across the business to drive optimum performance. The successful candidate should experience of developing and implementing an Ocean Freight strategy
  • Day to day management of Ocean Freight partners. The selection and management of our Ocean Freight partners will be a key requirement of the position. Prior experience is essential of extracting maximum value from our partners is essential and will include, but not be limited to, ensuring we have standard EDI links to give us visibility of stock and costs at any time
  • Collaborate with Procurement colleagues to ensure best in class ocean freight rates for existing and new lanes
  • Proven track record of successfully managing internal stakeholders and driving significant process change. Working collaborate and positively influencing the business stakeholders will be a very important part of the job. The use of data and facts will be key so the successful candidate should have advanced analytical and influencing skills
