Brand new role, reporting to the MD of an ambitious 7milSME delivering exciting, innovative, unique technology solutions.

We are looking for a Head of Operations who can provide outstanding leadership to the Operations, Purchasing and Technical Managers and prepare the company to enter new markets through gaining BSI ISO accreditation.

Reporting directly to the MD, you will also get involved with exciting, innovative operational projects, have the autonomy to redesign standards and procedures and shape company culture.

Ultimately the Head of Operations will play a key role in facilitating growth through obtaining BSI ISO accreditations, ensuring departments and processes are equipped for growth – while getting involved with client projects and growing and thriving with the business.

The role:

  • Lead and manage the Operations Manager, Purchasing Manager and Technical Support Manager
  • Lead and implement BSI/ISO, sustainability, and customer specific requirements
  • Design quality standards, procedures and specifications
  • Review existing procedures to ensure they meet current guidelines
  • Oversee product and machine testing and sign off before launch to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Maintain documentation of procedural changes
  • Work with the implementation and installation teams
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Ensure that all processes meet safety, legal and other national or international standards
  • Promote a culture of high morale and communicate the company s operating policies, customer issues and safety measures
  • Perform financial forecasts by preparing the operations annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analysing variance and initiating corrective actions
  • Review and approve operational invoices and forward them for payment
  • Oversee that specific machine requirements are implemented: DEKRA/UL/HSE reports, audits etc.

The person:

  • Energetic, motivated self–starter who is able to engage and inspire stakeholders in a highly collaborative culture
  • BSI/ISO Training
  • Strong research, analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent data analysis, planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • In–depth knowledge of national and international industry regulations
  • Understanding of business management principles
  • High level of IT literacy
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience
