Michael Page Logistics are currently recruiting for a Director of Distribution and Logistics in the South East of England.
Client Details
We are working in partnership with a multinational leader in FMCG. The role will predominantly be based at the companies DC in Hampshire but will have regular travel to the Head Office in London.
Description
You will lead the strategic planning and execution for distribution, logistics and transportation across multiple channels including wholesale and D2C, establishing KPI's for all areas. You will work closely with the VP of Supply Chain to co–create and manage the DC budget and drive down cost. You will drive continuous improvement and create a safe and engaging environment. You will build strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
Additional responsibilities to include:
- Implement strategy, track progress and make changes as required
- Deliver local and/or global strategic projects e.g. new technology implementation
- Understand external landscape of innovation, automation and technology
- Establish clear KPIs for the DC operation including delivering sales targets, financial and productivity objectives and new launches
- Analyse key data and feedback to the business enabling the delivery of sales targets
- Co–create and manage the DC budget, OPEX and CAPEX in conjunction with finance partner
- Ensure a good working knowledge of end–to–end supply chain processes
- Being the voice of the UK region on global initiatives, ensuring UK needs are represented effectively
- E2E talent planning including building DC talent strategy
Profile
We are looking to hear from candidates with a proven track record operating at a similar level in Logistics and Distribution. You will ideally come from within the FMCG sector and understand omni–channel commerce. With this experience you will be able to demonstrate senior management and leadership qualities such as people development, budget ownership, Continuous Improvement and key stakeholder engagement. As the business continues to grow and evolve so too must its leaders and we are really interested in speaking to candidates that have the ability and aspirations to develop beyond this role. In addition to your sound knowledge of Operations, candidates will require strong commercial acumen, be articulate, presentable, and confident enough to communicate effectively at all levels. Candidates will be educated to Degree level or above and ideally in an associated subject.
