Commercial Director - Transport

Location: Derby

Salary: up to GBP90K + additional benefits

Summary: Our client is a leading provider of transportation and logistics services. This business is growing within managed transportation services and has a strong portfolio of customers in the UK.

With an on–going growth strategy, the company is seeking to recruit a highly credible Commercial Director to spearhead the continued development of this sector. The key challenges of this senior position encompass the maximisation of assets, the people and the sites and the enhancement of the customer experience. Along with attracting and securing new contracts, a proactive approach to Account Management is key with the assurance that the customer requirements are fully understood and delivered.

We are seeking an individual who has proven expertise within the various models of transportation services including dedicated resource, network operations, 4PL, specialist services and solutions design. This individual will have the gravitas to represent the business at board level and to identify, present, influence, negotiate and finalise major contracts. You will also have the proven capability to develop the team and ensure that all of the staff are fully appraised of the business expectations. Excellent commercial skills are a prerequisite along with systems, communications and operational knowledge.
