Ortus Group is currentlyworking with one of the few independent corporate firms in the region doing some of the highest quality work you will find here and they've retained my firm to identify and attract acorporate lawyer capable of stepping into a succession plan for one of the region's genuine rainmakers.
Over the past twelve months alone, the department have completed several deals worth between £20-100million,these sorts of deals are not uncommon for them. The work they handle is largely a mixture of local and international clients, covering sectors as diverse as haulage and energy. The firm has expanded modestly over recent years and last year opened their fourth office as they look to grow their client base and expand business services.
There is now an opportunity has opened to work within this team, as the firm look to expand both the practice and their partnership. Business services is a major growth area for them with plenty of excellent work in the corporate department ready to be won and picked up for the right person coming in. Longer term, the lead partner needs to make sure the team is well equipped to continue as he steps back and this is why we need to be sure that the person joining now is not just a strong solicitor, but a good commercial thinker too.
The corporate team itself comprises of 2 partners and 2 solicitors. The dynamics in play mean there is plenty of room to build your own practice alongside developing the opportunities generated internally and you can have a genuine say in how the department and the firm grow in the future.
