Deputy Head of Financial Services, Hybrid role, 2 days a week in the office, 3 days working from home
Your new company
Our public sector is looking to recruit a Deputy Head of Financial Services for a 3 month period.
Your new role
You will be overseeing a team of 7 and provide effective leadership to all areas i. monthly reporting, technical accounting, treasury management (accounts receivable and cash management), accounts payable, capital and charity. Support in the production of the statutory financial accounts and supporting information to accepted standards.. Liaise with the external auditors and take necessary steps to ensure their financial audit is effective. Facilitate any VAT audits and ensure compliance with any recommendations. Ensure Finance staff are fully updated and aware of the current VAT guidelines. Produce regular reports monitoring the performance of the accounts payable and Shared Service functions and payments made. Produce forecast capital investment plans and advise on key trends and strategies. Complete the Charitable funds and produce group accounts where applicable as part of the annual account process.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified Accountant with experience of managing a team and leading the production of annual accounts and agreement of balances process. Ideally you will have worked within the NHS or a similar organisation.
