Programme Function –
The Ultra Project and Programme function is responsible for providing the strategy for the planning and execution of all development and production programmes. The function controls programme costs, manages adherence to technical and schedule performance plans. The function manages the risks and opportunities and directly interfaces with customers as required.
The Programme Management function in Ultra manages one or more projects and programmes as a group to achieve strategic goals and objectives. The function is accountable for the cumulative performance (to time, quality, cost and/or as–bid Gross Margin) of the projects and of the individuals performing the management of each project.
The role holder manages professionals in a defined area of Ultra. Develops plans for their team to ensure optimum use of time and resources. Ensures team performance is aligned and contributes to the overall plans of their area.
Responsible for the following with respect to all Communications Systems projects, programmes PV and proposals:
Manage multiple projects to meet project milestones, schedule and budget requirements.
Establishing, controlling and reporting programme schedule & costs against an overall WBS & budget.
Achieving acceptance of all elements of the programme to schedule and cost
Meeting programme sales and cash budgets and forecasting accurately
Identifying programme resource, skill and training requirements for the Resource Plan
Use Programme Performance Metrics (PPMs) to effectively manage all programmes
Establish and maintain programme metrics to measure and report progress
In conjunction with the System design Authorities hold progress reviews (as required)
Effective communication with all programme stakeholders to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships
Ultimate responsibility for risk management across all projects within the programme.
Identify and monitor cost saving and risk reduction initiatives
Management of programme issues, risks & opportunities, data and action logs, including item closure
Plan and conduct internal, customer and sub–contractor progress reviews.
